I LOVE wool.

posted by kimmers

I have a confession to make – I’m a wool-a-holic.  I LOVE wool.  I’ve been known to walk into a wool store without any intention of buying a ball – and leave with a lighter wallet and no clue as to what I’m going to make… all because I fell completely in lust with a particular color or texture of the cuddly stuff:  Alpaca, cotton, silk, hemp, cashmere – ummm – cashmere…

Take for instance this – my latest splurge… This is yarn from Manos Del Uruguay.

The colour got me right away.  It’s called Mist and I couldn’t leave it behind.  Now I have 7 balls of it (I would have bought more but it’s all they had in the same dye lot) and I still need to figure out what I’m going to do with it (suggestions would be greatly appreciated)!

Oh - Did I mention that I bought this wool last September and it’s still in the same bag? What can I say I got side tracked with another project and just found it in one of my many supply chests…

Anyway – I can’t say I’m a great knitter – but I do love yarn stores so to celebrate this being one of my first entries I thought I’d share some of my favorite retailers and get a list of shops started for everyone.  If you have a favorite in your neck of the woods let us know!
